Flick Picks June 16th

1) We have a few TV shows to look forward to in the next two weeks. Luke Cage drops on the 22nd, Preacher on the 24th and Glow on the 29th.

2) The big news of the week is that Netflix has picked up Lucifer for season 4.

3) Aeon Flux is coming back to MTV, but this time as a live-action series. Jeff Davis, showrunner on Teen Wolf, is writing the pilot script and will be the executive producer. Gale Anne Hurd of the Walking Dead will also be producing.

4) Hartley Sawyer’s Ralph Dibny, aka Elongated Man, will be a series regular on The Flash next season. As we know, at the end of last season, Barry helped Dibny overpower the Thinker and get him out of his mind and he was able to help Team Flash defeat the Thinker.

5) Unfortunately, HBO is skipping San Diego Comic-Con this year due to production schedules and air dates for Game of Thrones and Westworld. This is the first time Game of Thrones will be skipping SDCC. HBO also announced that they won’t be having any off-site activations either.

6) It is the 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced a bunch of themed activities for the rest of the year, including a virtual reality game at Comic-Con called Ghostbusters World. The augmented reality game lets players battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all dimensions of the franchise including the films, TV shows, comic books, theme parks and video games. It will be located at The Experience at Comic-Con at Petco Park, formerly the Petco Interactive Zone, so no badges required.

6) Oceans 8 opened last week. Incredibles 2 opens on the 15th and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on the 22nd.
